National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM)
The month of August is the month that is set aside to focus on the importance of immunizations, thus, August is National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM). This initiative is an annual observance held in the Month of August to highlight the importance of vaccinations people of ALL ages. As a society, we can help raise awareness about the importance of vaccinations and encourage people to talk to a trusted healthcare provider about getting and remaining up to date on their vaccinations.
The CDC has many resources to help keep us educated on the importance of getting all necessary vaccines throughout the year.
Your healthcare provider can get you engaged in learning opportunities on immunization education. Healthcare organizations can also answer any questions and concerns you may have regarding vaccinations and provide proven strategies to encourage parents and patients to stay up to date on vaccinations.
